I was introduced to Pilates in 2002 following my recovery from a three-year battle with Epstein Barr virus, fibromyalgia, thyroid deficiency and chronic fatigue. I decided to begin an exercise regime with Pilates to help strengthen my muscles and joints.

In Pilates, I found an excellent way to strengthen and tone the whole body, delivering improvements in range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, abdominal strength and decrease my back, neck and joint pain.

Encouraged by the general health benefits and physical progress achieved, I decided to pursue my Masters Certificate with Balanced Body. Educated in Classical and Clinical Pilates with the foundation of the original method and principles of Joseph Pilates.

I believe that the Pilates program is a great compliment to other fitness practices with its focus on building strength and flexibility. I know from personal experience how fitness and muscle tone can help create a quality of life enabling us to do all the things we love to do and feel great doing it.

My foremost goal is to enrich and strengthen the lives of those around me. I look forward to sharing my experience, love and passion for benefits of Pilates with others.

My experience with Pilates began 6 years ago following a back injury. I was interested in finding a way to strengthen my back, and needed a new form of exercise to replace the weight training and running that I had been relying on for years. Through Pilates, not only has my back strengthened, but I have more core strength and flexibility than in the past.

I am now a certified Balanced Body instructor, and teach several classes each week spanning from senior classes to advanced level 3 classes. I enjoy helping people achieve their health goals by designing classes that are both effective and interesting.

I had avoided working out my entire life. I always wanted to be fit but just didn't like any workout and believe me, I tried them all! Finally, after a debilitating back injury and our first child, I knew I had to find a way to stop the pain and to be healthy, not only for myself, but for my husband and son.

During my three years of back pain, doctors and surgeons consistently told me the only way to help prevent future back issues was to do Pilates. Almost two years ago, I came to Pilates by KWest and it has changed my life. After seeing such amazing results, I knew I wanted to help others be healthy and pain free!

That's why I became an instructor. Pilates increases balance and flexibility and tones your entire body through low impact exercises. It calms your mind and body to relieve stress and relaxes the entire body. In combination with Pilates, and with the help of a nutritionist, I have changed how I eat. Pilates along with a healthy diet has transformed my entire body. I’d love to help you do the same!

I discovered Pilates through my wife. After seeing the pain and agony she experienced from a back injury resulting from a car crash years prior, we had lost hope of her having a “normal” life. A good friend talked her into it and after consistent classes, the results were astounding!

So, I had to check this “Pilates Thing” out and began taking classes with her off and on. I soon realized the benefits for myself, in addition to what it’s done for my wife! I saw how much having a strong inner core has done for my heavy lifting (squats, deadlifts, overhead press, etc.) - AKA, #Gainz!

Years ago I had both shoulders surgically repaired from multiple dislocations (on each shoulder). Pilates has helped tremendously with strengthening those crucial joints (in addition to my knees)! I also enjoy doing endurance events such as GORUCK Challenges, which having a “Pilates-induced core” is essential for me to finish these events without hurting myself.

Seeing how much Pilates has helped me improve mine and my wife’s quality of life made it an easy decision to become an instructor, especially since I enjoy helping others achieve their own personal goals and overall health!

I took my first Pilates class in May of 2016. I fell in love with everything about this form of exercise - so much so that I am currently training to become a certified Balanced Body ® Instructor.

I studied and taught ballet, tap, and jazz dance from childhood through college for more than 20 years. I have found many similarities between the study of dance and Pilates, including the focus on muscle control, building core strength and concentrated breathing.

Pilates does not require any special skills or talents – simply a commitment to grower stronger, improve your balance and your flexibility.

I am passionate about what Pilates continues to do for me – improving my core strength, my balance and changing my shape to a leaner version of myself. I can’t wait to share that passion and see what Pilates can do for you!

Pilates has been a part of my life as a teenager, adult and mother. It has brought me strength, stamina and rehabilitation from my years of ballet training to everyday activities.

As a teenager, I discovered Pilates when a ballet friend asked me to join her for a weekly Pilates class. The results were amazing and it was fascinating to challenge my body through different resistance-settings with springs. My flexibility, muscle tone, core strength and control in my ballet technique noticeably changed to a new level.

After years of being in ballet, I unfortunately sustained a severe knee injury when landing from a jump. I quickly recovered after surgery because I combined my knowledge of exercises on the Reformer, Chair, Barrel, Cadillac, Tower and Mat with my physical therapy. In six months, I was performing again.

Then, once I became a wife and mother of two children, the physical demands of raising a family affected me a lot. I started having back spasms, sciatic nerve pain, knee pain and headaches often. So, I resorted back to Pilates to rescue and heal my body through classic and new exercises suitable to my ability.

Pilates provides benefits that last a lifetime. Knowing what Pilates has done for me, I hope to share the energy and relief it can offer to people of all ages and lifestyles.
